ST. LOUIS -- The Gateway Arch served as the backdrop for the Grand Pride Parade, an epic march in support of the LGBTQIA+ community. The procession started at the corner of 8th and Market Streets, and ran through the Pridefest grounds, before wrapping up at the intersection of Market at 15th Street.Thousands of people were on hand to see the creative talents of those involved in the parade. Before the festivities got started today, a church service took place on the main stage near Tucker and Chestnut."To me, it's so important for religious people of faith who are supportive of the LGBTQIA community to stand up and speak out and be a part of pride because so much of the resistance and animosity and hatred that comes towards the LGBTQ comes from people of faith. UNIVERSITY CITY, Mo. -- People are looking for a place to cool off as the summer heat is setting in. Large crowds of people are out at the Heman Park pool for the reopening.The pool is officially back open after close to a million dollars of repairs made to the electrical system, pumps, and cleaning out debris and trash from last summer's historic flooding. Hundreds of thousands joined in or attended the Denver Pride Parade that rolled through the city for about three hours on Sunday. A 36-year-old woman has been arrested on charges of torture and child abuse causing death in connection with the death of her infant daughter, authorities announced on Sunday. The incident unfolded on Saturday, June 24, when deputies with the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department responded to a home in the 11400 block of Russet Place just after 2 a.m., according to an SBSD news release. At the residence, deputies found 7-month-old female infant who was not breathing. Deputies performed life saving measures on the child until paramedics arrived and transported the infant to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 3:11 a.m. Authorities said that both deputies and medical personnel noted physical trauma to the infant that was consistent with child abuse. At that point, detectives from the sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide detail assumed the case. KANSAS CITY, Mo. Residents of an apartment building in Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood shared their concerns about a hateful display in their elevator.7News cameras showed two swastikas etched into the elevator’s walls at the Gallery at River Parc apartments, located along the 1300 block of Northwest Seventh Street.Residents said they first saw the vandalism Sunday morning and tried reporting it to police, but were told they needed to wait for the management office to call it in.The discovery has left many residents in fear for their safety.“With shootings and vandalism and, you know, crime going on nowadays at an all0time high, you know, you can never be too safe,” said a resident who asked not to be identified or show his face on camera.The resident said he wants the management of the 11-story building to also investigate.Latest news
